A RARE ROCK & ROLL MACHINE …

1983 GIBSON FLYING V
Call 615-613-1389
For In-Hand Description

Up for auction is one of Gibson’s most iconic models of all-time –
a beautiful, vintage 1983 Flying V, classically known as the “no pickguard”
version of the 1980s, but also considered one of the best “rock & roll”
guitars of the hair metal days of the 1980s!

This guitar was the first Flying V produced by Gibson’s Nashville
plant, and was designed to compete with other Flying V copy guitars of the day.
This particular Flying V features controls mounted directly on the face of the
guitar instead of on a pickguard like previous models. It’s got a mahogany body
and neck, a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot inlays and access to
every fret, a pointed headstock with Gibson’s iconic logo, and two Gibson
Original Humbuckers that make this thing scream like no other rock & roll
machine out there!

The coolest thing about this guitar, however, is its fairly
rare Ivory finish. The more popular finish on this model was Alpine White, but
this one is Ivory and it has aged to an incredible yellowish patina that makes
it a truly one-of-a-kind rock & roll axe.

The guitar comes in its original Gibson case, and you can
tell it’s been played. But it’s also been very well cared for. It’s got a few
battle scars, just like any other great rock & roll axe, but not one of
them takes anything away from this truly wonderful guitar.

It’s hard to find ANY guitar with this kind of mojo, much
less a Gibson Flying V that make you immediately feel like Randy Rhoads when
you slip it on. It’s like a well-worn shoe … slips right on, and feels
comfortable from the moment you put it on, until the moment you take it off.

This guitar will not disappoint its new owner. Look closely
at the pictures and please ask any and all questions BEFORE placing a bid. You’ll
see a few nicks and dings, and a nicely worn area from picking directly
underneath the strings, between the two pickups. There’s also a bit of finish
starting to peel off the top of the headstock, but it’s nothing a good luthier
couldn’t take care of in a few minutes of work.

Everything else on this V is simply amazing. We can’t say
enough about this one … Like we always say, if we could only keep the REALLY
good ones … this one wouldn’t be going anywhere!

Good luck!
